Stellent CM Server

Stellent® Content Server, the foundation of Stellent Universal Content Management, enables every contributor throughout your organization to easily contribute content from native desktop applications, efficiently manage business content via rich library services, and securely access that content anywhere using a Web browser.

Flexible, Single-Source Content Management

Stellent Content Server is a flexible, secure, centralized, Web-based repository that manages all phases of the content life cycle; from creation and approval to publishing, searching, expiration and archival.

The repository. Content Server is a completely Web-based repository, where all content -- regardless of content type -- is stored for management, re-use and access. To fully support the different content management applications required within an organization, Stellent offers a variety of repository options optimized for:

  • High-performance consumption
  • High-volume storage
  • Pure XML content storage

Core services. While stored in the repository, all types of content -- ranging from e-mail, discussions, documents, reports, spreadsheets and records to images, multi-media or other digital formats -- receive the same set of fundamental core services. The core services offered with Stellent Content Server include:

Library services:

– A robust metadata model provides organizations with a method to better organize and add additional structure to managed content.
– Check in/out functionality ensures that only one person at a time can make changes to content.
– Revision control allows organizations to easily track new revisions and provides users with the ability to roll back to previous versions.
– Subscription capabilities enable users to subscribe and receive automatic e-mail notifications when items change or when new content is added to the system.

Security: Comprehensive security includes role-based, account-based and rule-based security models – so only the right people can access protected information. The applications can use Stellent’s out-of-the-box security or integrate with enterprise standards such as Active Directory, NTLM or LDAP.

Workflow: An integrated graphical workflow engine is tightly secured but highly flexible and customizable, so organizations can create more efficient and automated processes to fit their needs.

Personalization: Personalization based on security and rules or defined by the user or administrator provides users with dynamic, tailored and relevant content — increasing productivity.

Index/Search: Content items can be indexed immediately upon check-in, resulting in quick and easy retrieval with full-text and metadata searches.

Replication: Stellent offers automated replication across multiple servers — particularly important for large implementations or mission-critical applications.

Administration: Administration services such as archiving and removal, audit trails and system reports, and back-up and recovery capabilities are available for all content management applications, using one Web-based user interface.

Enterprise Scalability and Integration Capabilities

Stellent Content Server’s integration and scalability options are standards-based and allow for current and future expansion plans – regardless of whether the system is used as a stand-alone implementation or as part of a larger content management infrastructure to support multiple enterprise applications.
